Ogone enhances UK presence
Ogone Payment Services, one of Europe’s largest service providers specialising in the processing of online payments today announced it has bolstered its UK team with the addition of two new professionals and that Julian Wallis has been appointed UK Country Manager.
Mark Clysdale has been appointed to the position of Business Development Manager, UK. Clysdale brings extensive sales experience and joins from First Data International, a global provider of electronic payment services that processes circa 1.5 billion payment card transactions annually. Clysdale previously occupied the role of New Business Manager, Bank of Scotland Merchant Services where he was responsible for both e-Commerce and POS merchant acquisition. In his new role Clysdale will be responsible for further developing Ogone’s UK merchant customer base.
Ogone has further invested in its UK sales presence with the appointment of Elaine Robin as Business Development Manager, UK. Robin was previously working in the sales team at Optimal Payments and prior to that role held the Head of Business Development position at Voice Commerce Group. Robin brings over 7 years of payment services sales experience having worked for major brands including World Pay and Royal Bank of Scotland Merchant Services. Robin’s role at Ogone is focused on building strong relationships with UK-based merchants.
“It’s under 12 months since Ogone opened its new UK office and we have already seen significant demand for our services from UK merchants wishing to break into or further develop e-Commerce sales throughout Europe” commented Julian Wallis, UK Country Manager Ogone, he continued: “The appointment of two proven payment services specialists will enable us to push forward with our strategic UK expansion in key sectors including; retail, ticketing, hospitality and travel.”
In addition to the two new hires Julian Wallis, who began his career at Ogone in July 2009 as Senior Business Development Manager, UK has been promoted to the position of UK Country Manager. Wallis’ new responsibilities include; UK strategy development, oversight of UK marketing and the construction of a successful UK team.
